Sadly, Lewisham Council's budget for disposing of fridges or freezers seems to have come an end, and they have now reverted to charging £30 to remove them safely.

Just phone Envirocall on 020 8314 7171 to arrange for disposal, or, if you can transport it yourself, take the item to the Landmann Way Recycling Centre (see left) yourself.
